Nicolas Garza

Nicolas Garza, an outstanding student. Nicolas also known as “Nic” is a senior. Nic is part of NHS, Link Crew, and Bowling which he is very passionate about. He has been a varsity bowler since freshmen year.

It’s good to get out of your comfort zone and try new things. This is how Garza discovered that he liked to bowl.

“My friend Justin was a year older than me, and he bowled so I got into bowling since he was on It” Garza said. “At first it was all over the place. We would only practice twice a week. As time proceeded, it got more serious”.

If you don’t give up on something you truly love and are passionate about, you will find a way.  Garza has learned that becoming skilled takes a lot of practice, and his bowling shows that.

“We have been to regionals; we have gotten third and fourth every single time” Garza said. “I have a feeling that we will get first this year”.

What a lot of people don’t know is that colleges give out sports scholarships for bowling.

“I got a scholarship to go bowl at Avila University which I’m very excited about” Garza said. “If you keep practicing and get good at it you can go to school for it”.

The future can’t be predicted, but Garza has a plan in place. He will attend Avila in the fall and bowl with them so he can pursue his dreams to become an ortho dentistry.
