Winter sports state updates:

Bowling

The Bowling team competed in regionals and won. Taylor Kessler, Nicolas Garza, and Rhett Ryman all placed and received medals. Natalie Smith made It to state as an individual for girls bowling.

 

Wrestling

These four students went to state. Daisy Chavez, Arianna Ortiz, Mechia Marks, and Connor Scott. The boys start their matches February 25th and the girls the 23rd.

Arianna Ortiz is 3-0 so far in State Wrestling. She will wrestle February 24th for the championship title. Arianna will go against Amara Esha from Derby. If Arianna wins state, she will be the first girl state champion wrestler in Turner history.

 

Swimming

The swim team has made a lot of improvement this year. Their hard work paid off by taking most of the team to state February 19th.

Brock beery – 17th for breaststroke, 32nd for 100 free, 14th for medley relay, and 17th for 200 free

Competed in 100 Breaststroke, 100 free, 200 free relay, and the 200-medley relay

Calvin Denson – 17th for 200 free, 14th for medley relay

Competed in 100 fly, 50 free, 200 free relay, and 200 medley relay

Leonardo Cruz-Portillo – 17th for 200 free, 14th for medley relay

Competed in 400 relay, 200 medley relay, and 200 free relay, and 100 free

Grant Greenwood, 14th for medley relay

Competed in 400 relay and 200 medley relay

David Spillman – 17th for 200 free

Competed in 400 relay and 200 free relay

Tobe Xiong – competed in 400 relay
