Betty White passed away at the age of 99 on New Year’s Eve of 2021. White was just shy of celebrating her 100th birthday on January 17th. She was America’s Sweetheart and an actress who starred on very popular films and tv programs.  Her most popular program was starring as Rose Nylund on The Golden Girls, along with staring on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and Hot in Cleveland.

Although she was known for acting, there were many things that Betty White contributed to. One thing that many people don’t know is that White was a Guinness World Record Holder, she was awarded this for holding the Longest TV Career for a female entertainer. During World War 2, she halted the takeoff of her career to join the American Women’s Voluntary Services to deliver supplies. To say she was just an actress is an understatement, she made an impact on everything she did.

White’s birthday just recently passed on January 17th. She was an animal lover, an advocate for guide dogs, a board member for the L.A. Zoo, and a recipient of American Humane’s highest honor, the National Humanitarian Medal and Legacy Award. For her birthday there is an incredible social media trend where people donate to animal charities in her honor, fans started a “#BETTYWHITE” challenge. Fans are donating to an animal charity of their choice which had great outcomes. L.A. Zoo raised 70,000, and Best Friends Animal Society for 340,000.

Hollywood’s shining star and America’s sweetheart will be extremely missed by family, friends, and fans.

RIP Betty White, January 17th, 1922- December 31st, 2021.
