Goodbye from the Editor

Goodbye+from+the+Editor

Chloe Fleming, Editor in Chief

Saying goodbye to the newspaper is a bittersweet moment. I have seen the paper change completely over the years that I have been on staff. We went from publishing issues online each month to have our own website that we constantly update. We’ve branched out into multimedia production such as tiny mic talks and podcasts. We have also grown as a staff over the years.

The newspaper staff has always been welcoming, but this year, I couldn’t have asked for a better one. Each one of them brings something special to the atmosphere, and it’ll be sad to see that change once many of the seniors graduate. The paper’s staff has not always been so big though, just last year we had a staff with 2-3 people on it for the year. Last year presented so many challenges, but it grew the paper because we could take our time to develop the website and work out the kinks in the system.

Although I’m sad to leave the paper, I know that I’ll be leaving it in good, creative, hands. I’m proud to say that Merry will be the next Editor in Chief of the THS Black and Gold. This has been Merry’s first year on staff, even though she was trying to be on the yearbook staff. I’m glad that she chose to stay and that it has led her to become an editor! I hope the next few years are great and will provide her with many learning experiences!
