Day of the Dead happens November 1, through November 2 in the United State while In Mexico it starts October 31st to November 6th, depending on the locality in Mexico. On these days we celebrate loved ones or somebody famous that impacted us or we cherish the most. The reason why we celebrate is because we don’t want to forget our loved ones. The holiday is a tradition in many households. In Mexico, Day of the Dead is called “Día de Los Muertos”, and it began roughly with the Aztec, Toltec, and the Mayans who thought death and the dead were seen as a natural part of life that should be honored and celebrated, rather than mourned. This holiday is celebrated with parades, food, and costumes which are usually skeletons. It’s always beautiful to see the bright colors and decorations they have for Day of the Dead.
