As Turner high School volleyball got off to an amazing start, even before the first practice started! The excitement and participation for this season was over the top! In fact, there were more than 50 girls who came out in the hope of making the team.
Freshman Makayla Boyce and Izzy Cox state that they’re both very excited to have made the varsity team. They were, however, very nervous. They also both stated that they’re very grateful for the experience of getting to play varsity as a freshman. They are very excited how much they’re learning from the upperclassmen.
“I have really loved getting to know my teammates they’re all really sweet and uplifting, ” said Izzy. Makayla agreed, “Getting to learn more about volleyball and also getting more comfortable withmy teammates has been my favorite part of the season so far”. They’re both doing great adjusting from playing club to now playing at the varsity level at Turner High School.
While there are some stand-out freshmen on the squad this year, there are some great senior leaders to show them the way to success. Turner has 4 varsity seniors who have all played all four years of their high school careers. The consensus of the returning varsity seniors is that they want to increase the number of wins compared to last year. They all want to build team chemistry and have a remarkable senior season.
Brooklyn Dillard is one of the seniors, Brooklyn’s goal she wants to reach at Turner is “To be a positive and supportive teammate and to leave some proof how hard we’ve worked all season,” IN addition to volleyball, Brooklyn plays varsity volleyball and softball.
Andrea Ruby agreed, “I want to leave my mark of drive and dedication to turner volleyball” said Ruby.
Another of the returning varsity volleyballers, Breanna Hobson, said “We work hard and stay focused” and our goal is always wins!
These seniors have worked very hard over the last four years and would absolutely love for you to come and support.
